A slice of Heaven in Gramercy, New York

This brand new penthouse with its gorgeous onyx fireplace was in need of some personality. Home to a young power couple who are busy running businesses and exploring the world & themselves, this was going to be a place to lounge, party and hang out. The only goal here was to accentuate the view and create some privacy. I wanted the home to feel luxe and young. Photography by Daniel Wang.

Welcome to this heavenly great room. You see this room as soon you enter the apartment and it draws you in… The fireplace wall is the feature wall here. I decided to soften the wall with silk wallpaper which lends the perfect background for the feature art. The swivel chairs in the sage green velvet with their low back create good sight lines and allow for TV viewing and conversations to be enjoyed. The geometry in this layout make my design heart smile… the curved sofa, the semi-circle chairs and the organic side table play to the structural head chairs in the dining room.

The living room is spacious and the curved sofa anchors it. The color pallet is neutral with pops of green, blues and reads. The green stands out here with the chairs, drapes and the beautiful water like mirrored art here. Styling is simple and layered.

Here is a view from the fireplace, as you enter the home. You see the kitchen with its adjustable swivel bar stools and playful pendant lights. The entry foyer shelving is styled to perfection with a his and hers drop zone and pretty things to look at. The ball pillows add so much playful fun to the room.

The powder is a beauty. When DBR saw it, it had white walls and the one addition of this wallpaper completed the space.
